Robert R. Goggins (Randy)

Randy Goggins, President of Progressive Planning, leads an experienced team of independent financial advisors and professional staff members seeking to guide clients along the path to financial well-being. Randy focuses on helping clients in or nearing retirement develop effective wealth accumulation, retirement and income distribution strategies designed with the goal to preserve a lifetime of assets while minimizing the impact of taxes.

As the firm’s LPL Registered Principal, he is also responsible for the review and supervision of all of the firm’s investment-related activities. Randy holds his Series 7, 63, 65, and 24 registrations through LPL Financial.

Over the course of 35+ years in the financial services industry, Randy has built and managed successful financial planning practices, including Houston, TX-based First Meridian, Inc. He played an integral role in growing the firm from 5 to 55 employees with five offices in four states before selling to a private equity firm in 2005.

He has been recognized as a top financial advisor and Ascent Club member with LPL Financial, an achievement that is based on annual production among LPL-affiliated investment programs only.

Randy graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1980 from Brigham Young University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications. He went on to earn his MBA from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University in 1982.

Randy and his wife Melene reside in Sandy, Utah, and have four children: Taylor, Brielle, Landon, and Weston, and thirteen grandchildren. He is active in both church and community organizations and enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and gardening.
